In 2002 Pouné Design was approached by Elite Property Brokers with a brief to expand their Yeo Street offices into one of the main street frontage spaces to house their showroom, conference room and additional office space.
The clients were seeking a high end contemporary look suitable for marketing their many large scale projects and sales. Furthermore, a multi-functional space that could be used for showings to prospective clients and developers but also a space to hold gatherings and seminars. As part of the brief they requested that the showroom – with its extensive glass surround – be eye catching for the passers-by, yet simple and classy.
Pouné Design worked closely with a combination of suppliers, including signage companies and retail merchandising suppliers, to create a series of bespoke movable and rotational double sided light box partitions that could be maneuvered by attaching to a grid system of recessed floor and ceiling connections. These light boxes act as walls, signs and canvases and became the essence of the showroom space, proving to be an invaluable asset for the company.
The materials pallet was chosen to create a sleek and eye catching space using the logo colours of grey, red and orange. Honed grey sandstone floors were juxtaposed against glossy black glass walls . These elements frame the focal point – the 2pac Ferrari red logo wall – that sits centrally within the space and forms the main separation between the showroom and the conference room.
To complete the showroom space a studded stainless steel and black granite service counter was selected and a combination of Bertoia chairs and black and red ottomans provide casual seating and gathering possibilities.
The conference space needed to be unique and professional, allowing for both meetings and presentations, while the offices would be utilitarian yet comfortable for their staff. The conference room was designed around a 15 seater curved granite and steel conference table detailed specifically for the space. This curved form was then projected in the ceiling and lighting detail above making the space cohesive.
